OMNI Ethiopia and partners have continued to use community-based communication approaches to promote awareness and trust in digital financial services across Ethiopia.

Through the Digital Financial Services awareness campaign, community members engaged in open dialogue, cultural performances, community theatre, drama, music, roadshow activation, quizzes, and interactive question-and-answer sessions. These activities helped translate digital finance messages into familiar, locally relevant formats.

Recent campaign activities took place in communities including Finote Selam, Aweday, Ambo, Durame, Gelila, Kombolcha, Jimma, Hawassa, Dilla, Werabe, and Hosaena. By working through local culture, community radio, universities, youth performers, and community institutions, the campaign helped people explore how digital financial services can make everyday transactions safer, more convenient, and more accessible.

The initiative was implemented in collaboration with partners including Shega Media, community radio stations, universities, cultural institutions, and local actors. The campaign demonstrates how trusted local voices can support digital inclusion and build confidence in the use of digital financial services.
