Voices of Voters is a civic education project that strengthens the role of community media in promoting peaceful, informed, and inclusive electoral participation. The project supports community radio stations to deliver accurate, non-partisan voter education through election reporting, public service announcements, radio programming, participatory community theatre, storytelling, and open dialogue.
OMNI Ethiopia worked with community radio stations to strengthen journalists’ capacity in election reporting, voter education, interview techniques, safety-sensitive reporting, post-election coverage, and quality programme production. OMNI also supported the planning and delivery of public service announcements, radio programmes, and participatory community theatre sessions that translated election messages into locally relevant stories and discussions.
