OMNI Ethiopia has completed EMIC — Empowered Media-Informed Communities, a flagship 2025 project that trained 178 journalists across 30 community radio stations in partnership with GIZ, DW Akademie, and the Ethiopian Media Council.
OMNI Ethiopia has been accredited by the National Election Board of Ethiopia to provide voter education for the 7th General Election, strengthening its role in civic engagement and public-interest communication.
Through Weyra Youth Dialogue forums in Addis Ababa and Assosa, OMNI Ethiopia and community radio partners created spaces for young people to exchange ideas, discuss economic challenges, and explore solutions for a youth-driven future.
OMNI Ethiopia and partners used community dialogue, cultural performance, drama, roadshow activation, and local radio collaboration to promote safer, more accessible digital financial services awareness across Ethiopian communities.
OMNI Ethiopia handed over four recently published training handbooks to the Ethiopian Media Council as part of the Empowered Media–Informed Communities project, strengthening resources for Ethiopia’s media ecosystem.
Through the Voices of Voters project, OMNI Ethiopia and Kambata Community Radio used participatory community theatre to encourage informed decision-making, peaceful participation, and active civic engagement.
